Jasmin and Jordy had been together since they were teenagers, and were married surrounded by hundreds of family and friends in an outdoor wedding on the beautiful lawns of Athol Hall in Mosman.
The rain came and went before the ceremony began. As rain dripped from the trees onto the grass, Jasmin walked with her dad down the old stone steps of Athol Hall to a song that Jordy had written specially for her – a moving piano piece. Her beautiful chiffon gown caught the breeze, the edges flying in the wind.
Jordy is the second of the Mawson clan, a band of three larger-than-life brothers, adventurous, creative and hilarious. Story has it that thunderstorms featured at his brother’s wedding, and also the wedding of his parents. Perhaps a sign of goodluck and blessing! After the wedding and before the reception, the storm came out again in full force for Jasmin and Jordy, the rain pelted down, there was lightning streaked across the sky and it continued to pour wildly. And then, just as suddenly as it came, it was gone.
The reception was filled with family and friends in the intimate venue of Athol Hall, decked in fairy lights and flowers.
The whole day was filled with the warmth of the many beautiful friendships that they have. One of the highlights was the hilarious speech by Jordy involving a musical ensemble of his merry groomsmen and that ended with him playing the trumpet on one of the tables. So much fun!
